We are a literary book club based in Ivanhoe, in the north-east of Melbourne. We meet monthly on Tuesday nights to discuss important and interesting texts.
We welcome new members. If you love reading, sharing ideas and discussing books – get in touch or come to our next meeting. Everyone is welcome.
Our group has been meeting continuously since 1920. Read more about our history here. You could also listen to this podcast to learn more about our history:
The August, 2021 meeting will be held via ZOOM – to save members having to venture out on a cold, winter’s evening. 7.00pm – 8.45pm. A link will be forwarded to IRC email addressees by 4 August.
Meetings will resume in Community Meeting Room 2 at the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub (ILCH), 275 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe in September, 2021.
Meeting time: 7.00pm – 8.45pm
ILCH is a five minute walk from Ivanhoe train station on the Hurstbridge Line
Parking is available at ILCH.
N.B. If you would like to participate in our book club, get in touch.
Our meetings are quite structured. We begin with a short presentation on the month’s book, presented by a Reading Circle member. The meeting is then opened to everyone for questions and discussion.
We value everyone’s voice and represent a diversity of ages and opinions.
